A Message from the Head of School

As we reach the end of the first half-term of the academic year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful start that our community has made and the positive steps we have taken together as part of the Co-op Academies Trust.

Over the past 8 weeks, our staff and students have warmly embraced the trust values, creating a purposeful environment across the academy. Joining the Trust has opened up opportunities, giving us access to specialist support, tailored staff training, and shared expertise. This is helping us drive improvement across areas of school life—from curriculum standards to pupil well-being.

Thank you to parents and carers who have joined us for events; meeting so many of you and sharing the journey that we are on has been productive and your feedback and support is invaluable.

Have a restful break.

World Mental Health Day

Our school recently marked World Mental Health Day by asking staff and students to wear a yellow accessory, while students also took part in activities throughout the day to support the cause. It was great to see so many people get involved, bringing our community together to raise awareness and encourage open conversations about mental health. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped highlight such an important topic.

Careers

Our students have been busy exploring their future opportunities across all year groups this term. Year 7 completed a four-week Barclays LifeSkills project focused on communication and resilience, while Year 10 registered for work experience on Elevate and took part in a study skills workshop with Shaping Futures. Meanwhile, Year 11 explored post-16 options with visiting providers and continued their One Million Mentors programme with Princes Food Group. Across the entire school, all students are actively using Unifrog to research careers and plan their next steps.
